Configuration of the ConnectWise Accounting Package

In order for the integration to work correctly, we will need to make sure your Accounting Package is configured correctly. The accounting package is an important part of your setup. These settings will determine how ConnectWise PSA exports your transactions to Business Central.

1. Set the Accounting Package Setup dropdown to Other.
2. Set Include Sales Tax as Checked.
3. Set Transfer Expenses as a Bill as Unchecked.
4. Set Inventory SOH Option as Checked.
5. Set Include COGS Entries as Checked.
6. In the COGS Segments section, choose the maximum number of segments a COGS account in your company will have. Ensure that each segment to be a part of your GL Account structure has a type of Account.

Create your ConnectWise API Member

The following steps will walk you through how to create your API Member to connect with SmartConnect.

1. Log into ConnectWise PSA and navigate to: System > Members > API Members tab.
2. Then click the (+) to create a new API member. You will want the Member ID and Name to be easily identified for your connection to SmartConnect.
3. The Role ID can be Admin or custom defined role setup according to this article.

4. Click Save.
5. After saving, click API Keys.

6. Then click the (+) to create a new API Key.
7. Provide a Description for the API Key.
8. Click Save.
9. After Saving, copy the Public Key and Private Key. You will need these later for the setup in SmartConnect. 
   • Note: your key values will be different than the below screenshot.

Import the ConnectWise REST Definition

1. From the main Navigation Menu > Maintenance and then REST Services.

2. On the REST Services page, click the Import Rest Service button.
3. This opens the Import Rest Service window allowing you to upload the Json File linked here.

4. After you have selected the file, you can press the Process Import button.

Add a ConnectWise Connector

1. In SmartConnect navigate to Connections.
2. Click +Create Connection.
3. Select ConnectWise 1.0.0.1 as the connector.
4. Follow the instructions on the connector to add new connector details.

5. Save the Connector
