Creating a Dynamics 365 CE/Sales Bulk Data Source

Published: Sep 12, 2018
  1. On the left side options column expand Data Sources – Bulk Sources – Query.
  1. On the Query Data Sources page, click the Create Bulk Query button.
  1. On the New Query Data Source page, click the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Query Data Source button.
  1. Name – enter a description for the data source.
  2. Connection – select the connection to be used from the dropdown list.
  3. Organization – after the connection is selected, the Organization field becomes active. Select the organization to be used from the dropdown list.
  4. Return Option Set Labels – Option sets within CRM have a value (held in the database) and a label (shown to the end user). Default queries to CRM return the value for option sets rather than the label. The return option sets as label checkbox on CRM data sources will return the label linked to the option set instead of the value.
  5. Click the Validate button – this will verify the Connection is successful.
  1. Edit Query – opens the Query Builder to edit the query.
  2. After the query has been created click on Next to return to the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Query Data Source window.
  3. Preview – preview the first 5 rows from D365
  4. Save – save the query data source
