- From the main Navigation Menu, select Connections.
- On the Connections page, click on the Create Connection button.

- Select Microsoft Sql Server.


- Description – Friendly description for the connection.
- Server Address – Externally identifiable SQL server address, This SQL server will need to have its port opened to be accessible by SmartConnect.
- Azure Serverless SQL – Optionally, set this if using Serverless SQL, so SmartConnect will wait for the serverless layer to start.
- Authentication Type – will be set to SQL Server Authentication and that cannot be changed.
- Username -SQL server username
- Password – SQL server Password
- Encrypt – If your security policies require encryption, and SSL/TLS has been installed on the SQL server, enable this option.
- Use trust server certificate – If your SQL server requires trust certificate, enable this option.
- Click Validate.
- Click Save.
