Setting up a SQL Server Connection

  1. From the main Navigation Menu, select Connections.
  1. On the Connections page, click on the Create Connection button.

  1. Select Microsoft Sql Server.
  1. Description – Friendly description for the connection.
  2. Server Address – Externally identifiable SQL server address, This SQL server will need to have its port opened to be accessible by SmartConnect.
  3. Azure Serverless SQL – Optionally, set this if using Serverless SQL, so SmartConnect will wait for the serverless layer to start.
  4. Authentication Type – will be set to SQL Server Authentication and that cannot be changed.
  5. Username -SQL server username
  6. Password – SQL server Password
  7. Encrypt – If your security policies require encryption, and SSL/TLS has been installed on the SQL server, enable this option.
  8. Use trust server certificate – If your SQL server requires trust certificate, enable this option.
  9. Click Validate.
  10. Click Save.
