An issue that we have seen recently at eOne is that as users have been transitioning from SmartConnect 21 Onprem Perpetual Licensing to SaaS/subscription licensing is that SmartConnect users may no longer log into SmartConnect.
An error message you might get from SmartConnect is:
No products for this customer id
The reason why this happens is because previously all users that were added after the initial install were all created in the local SmartConnect database.

After switching to SaaS licensing, the user logins are authenticated against the eOne UAM cloud servers and since the accounts were never created there, those logins fail. Most of the time, the only user that can login after this change is the initial user that installed SmartConnect as that account gets created in both places.
With the release of SmartConnect 21.1.0.1567, the SmartConnect Configuration Tool has been enhanced to resolve this issue by adding a feature to upload the “local” user logins to the eOne UAM cloud server.
To upgrade SmartConnect to this new version SmartConnect by downloading the latest version of SmartConnect 21.
Upgrade your existing SC 21 install by following this blog post.
After installing your new SmartConnect version and setting the Active Instance, and the eOne SmartConnect Service and eConnect REST services if required, next we need to synchronize the local users to the eOne UAM Server.
In the configuration tool, right click on the Active instance you just connected to and right click and find the “Synchronize Users” item.

Selecting this item will prompt confirmation from SmartConnect.

Notice that the dialog notes “active users” – users that are inactive will not be transferred to the UAM.
Pressing OK will initiate the synchronization process with a “busy” dialog.

After a few moments, the Progress dialog will disappear, and control will return to the Configuration window.
At this point, the local users will have been uploaded to the eOne UAM Servers and those users should be able to log in with their existing password. If that does not work, then the user might have been created previously in UAM and resolution is to just use the Forgot Password link on the SmartConnect Login window to reset the user SmartConnect 21 password.
