Steps to upgrade from one version of SmartConnect 21 to another version.

1.  Uninstall the current version of SmartConnect.
2.  Install the new version of SmartConnect 21, and then run the eOne.SmartConnect.Config.exe.  Put in the same customer ID you used on your previous installations and click Validate.   You will get a list of all your existing installations.  Right click on the one you want to upgrade and select “Set Active Instance”

3.  It will ask you if you are sure you would like to set it as the active instance, click “Yes” on that.

4.  It will then ask you to type in the SmartConnect password for the instance.  Type the same password you typed during your initial installation of SmartConnect.

5.  It will then ask you a SQL Server name and login, change the database name to your SmartConnect database, but this time put the “sa” username and password in the window and click validate.

6.  You will get a message that says the SmartConnect version is not compatible with the database and it will ask you if you want to upgrade.  Select “Yes” on that window.

7.  You will then get a message that the instance was successfully updated and set to the current instance.

8.  Click OK on that message and close the SmartConnect Configuration utility.  Then launch the SmartConnect user interface and your upgrade is complete.
