Introduction to Popdock

Popdock is a data access and reporting web application designed to simplify data management across multiple platforms. It provides a centralized platform for users to create, customize, and share reports and dashboards. Popdock can connect with various systems, including Microsoft Dynamics GP, to enhance data visibility and decision-making processes and it will not store any of your data. It simply queries your Dynamics GP data at the time that you need it and displays it in the application.

For our Microsoft Dynamics GP customers, your Popdock subscription includes access to both SmartView and SmartList Builder for Dynamics GP. SmartView allows you to access your SmartLists outside of the Dynamics GP interface and in a much quicker manner. SmartList Builder on the other hand, allows you to create new and modify existing SmartLists. Taking it a step further, Popdock allows you to bring in data from standard SmartLists in Dynamics GP, in addition to also importing the SmartList favorites that have been configured. Furthermore, any custom SmartList Builder list that have been built with SmartList Builder or even Designer will also be available.

Visit the following product pages for more detailed information:

Note: SmartView favorites do not currently import into Popdock. As a workaround, you can recreate your SmartView favorites within Popdock by building favorites or custom lists from your default Dynamics GP lists.

In the steps below we show you how to import your Dynamic GP SmartList Favorites including those built with SmartList Builder into Popdock.

Prerequisites:

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

  • A Popdock account with the necessary permissions to edit a connector.
  • A Dynamics GP Connector connected to your Popdock account.
