Using favorites to create custom views that apply to many scenarios is a very effective method for using your Popdock reports to their full ability. It is recommended that someone within your organization be the primary creator of baseline favorites – standard views that are useful to many users. These are the favorites serve as a baseline view of the data, ensuring consistency while also providing a starting point for users to create their own personalized views.
Assigning baseline favorites to a single user helps with management and sharing. For example, if a favorite needs to be shared with a new user, the owner can simply grant them access. Once the favorite is shared with the new user, they can begin using the favorite immediately.
Making changes to favorites
There may be times when favorites need to be updated to reflect situations that were not present when the favorite was originally created. To effectively save the changes to the favorite, start by making the necessary changes to the favorite.
Once your changes are in place:
1. Click the favorites icon again and then select Save Changes.
2. Click the Refresh icon on the list. This will reload the data and ensure the new metadata is saved.
3. Verify the changes by closing the favorite and reopening it in a new tab. This provides a final check to confirm your updates were successfully applied.
