Security Roles – Granting Access to the Popdock Scheduler

If a user needs to build or manage Scheduled Jobs, follow these guidelines for assigning roles:

System Roles
  • SchedulerReader

This gives the user access to the Popdock Scheduler, but they will only be able to access scheduled jobs where they have access to the connector and list that the scheduled job has configured on it.

  • SchedulerContributor

This allows the user to add new scheduled jobs and the ability to delete or edit any scheduled jobs.

  • SchedulerAdministrator

This grants the user full access to any scheduled job. They will have permission to add, update, and delete any scheduled job.

Connector Roles
  • User

This allows viewing data from the connector. Access is limited to the companies, lists, actions, and details that you explicitly grant permissions to.

Notes on Scheduler System Roles

Assigning the System Roles doesn’t automatically give users access to use the connectors and lists. To enable access, users also need the appropriate Connector Roles, along with permissions for the specific connectors, companies, and lists. Once all of that is in place, they’ll be able to add them to a scheduled job.

  • SchedulerContributor – This will allow the user access to scheduled jobs with connectors and lists that they do not have access to through the user security.
  • SchedulerReader + User – Combined with the permissions to the companies and lists, this will only allow the user to view scheduled jobs if they also have permission to the connector, company, and list that is configured on the scheduled job.
