Let’s walk through some common FAQs about the New SmartConnect, and explore what this means for your integrations.

The new SmartConnect has been built for both on-premise and cloud deployment. The on-premise SmartConnect will be available in September 2026; it will include all the new features, and will have a consistent infrastructure, look, and feel as the cloud version.

Dynamics GP is planned for September 2026, available in both online and on-premises deployment.

The new SmartConnect is a more modern, more efficient version than the current SmartConnect Hosted. Considering the redesign in infrastructure, the new SmartConnect is a different online environment than the existing SmartConnect Hosted. Currently, to move to the new SmartConnect, integrations and configurations will need to be set up in the new SmartConnect. Early 2027, eOne will offer a migration tool to move connections and integration configurations to the new SmartConnect.

There is no price increase or extra cost to access the new SmartConnect. We’ve invested in everything from the infrastructure, user experience, performance, UI, and the AI-readiness of the platform. All of that is included in your existing licensing.

Initially, integrations will need to be re-built in the new SmartConnect cloud solution, and we are offering help with that at a discount. However, we do have a migration tool that we’re working on that we’re aiming to release early 2027. This new SmartConnect update will also be available on-premise for clients who do not wish to move to the cloud.

Yes, with the migration plan, you should be on the most updated version of SmartConnect before moving to the new platform. We are looking to offer a migration tool early 2027 to move connections, maps, and configurations over to the new SmartConnect on-premise and/or cloud. In the meantime, our team can assist with setup in the new SmartConnect if you’d like to move sooner.

Partners can start requesting their access to new SmartConnect in July 2026. Please contact your Partner Development Manager or email sales@eonesolutions.com to make that request. We’ll review the scenario that you would like to test, make sure it’s a good fit for new SmartConnect and then provide access.

No, you can run multiple and see the status of each in the current integration runs page.

Yes, we have plans to have a gateway that can be installed locally to allow connections to the local environment.

There will be an upgrade tool available in early 2027, so all your current integrations can move over with you.

An enhanced modern Excel add-in available on AppSource is planned for September 2026. With this release, it’s going to work on Windows, Mac, and Web.

Yes, a full API with CRUD and OAuth support is planned for July 2026.

New SmartConnect includes an audit feature that tracks all changes to a connector, data source and integration. This allows you to understand who changed what and when for compliance and troubleshooting purposes.

New SmartConnect introduces a granular, role-based security model with fine-graned permissions to control exactly who can view, edit, and run specific integrations. In August 2026, integration-level security to limit user access to specific integrations will be available.

In May 2026, new SmartConnect included a running processes view with real-time visibility into all running processes regardless of how they were initiated, plus an integration health dashboard, and configurable scheduler email notifications that can batch multiple failed runs into a single email.

The rebuild includes simplified databases, unified caching where all services update at the same time, and distributed processing where each map execution runs on its own isolated microservice, so one customer’s workload never impacts another’s performance.

There are a few layers. In May 2026, the ability to export integration configuration as Markdown was added so AI tools can get full context about your integrations without manual explanations. Then, in August 2026, a powerful MCP server is planned that will let AI clients create, configure, and manage integrations directly.

Building on that, September adds a dedicated SmartConnect AI plugin that bundles the MCP server with pre-built skills for integration builders, letting you automate common workflows from within the AI tools you already use.

Yes! AI Connectors that can run AI transformations and answer questions about your SmartConnect environment are listed as a future area of focus.

Yes! HubSpot and Shopify connections are both planned for September 2026. Today, customers are using the REST API connection to integrate with these systems, but we will have deeper connections for both of these systems in September. The Shopify connection will support Shopfiy’s latest GraphQL API.

At the June 2026 General Release, connectors include Salesforce (built on the REST API), Oracle NetSuite (with OAuth 2.0 support), Generic REST, Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, along with the Beta connectors: Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft SQL Server, Flat Files (including FTP, OneDrive, and SharePoint), and Popdock.

By September 2026 we’re aiming to have all the connectors we offer today in SmartConnect Hosted available in new SmartConnect.

Although an exact date hasn’t been published yet, we’re aiming for an early 2027 release for the migration tool. We encourage you to watch for announcements or reach out to eOne directly.

Right now, moving to new SmartConnect will require rebuilding of integrations, and we do have a migration promotion through August 31, 2026 where eOne’s team will help you do this at a discounted price.

A migration tool is on the roadmap that will migrate mapping configurations from existing SmartConnect Hosted and SmartConnect 21 environments into the new platform, and we are planning for that to be available in early 2027.

One caveat is that the specific release date isn’t committed, but this fall we’ll be looking to communicate exact timing. That being said, if you’re interested in moving to the new SmartConnect sooner, contact your customer success manager. We’ll work with you on a good plan for your scenario.
