1. Download the new version of the Gateway.

2. Run the new gateway installer.

Once you have downloaded the gateway, you can run the installer for the new gateway. You will be prompted with a license agreement. Check the box to accept the agreement and then click Next. You will then be prompted with a file path to install the new gateway on. It is recommended to use the default path (C:\Program Files\eOne Solutions\{Gateway folder}) for the installation, but you can choose the path you want, just make note of that path.

Once the path has been selected, click Next to move to the installation page. Click Install to begin the installation of the new gateway. Once the installation is complete, click Finish.

3. Run the Popdock Gateway Config tool.

After you have installed the new gateway, the new Popdock Gateway Config tool will be available. This tool allows for easier installation of the information that goes into the gateway connection (server name, database, authentication method, etc.) while also making any needed changes easier to manage and update. Launch the tool and then select Import Legacy Settings on the left-hand side.

4. Import the appsettings.json file from the old gateway into the tool

In the Upload legacy settings menu, click the button in the middle of the screen, above the Upload button. This will open File Explorer. Navigate to the old gateway folder and select the appsettings.json file. The default location for the old gateway is C:\Program Files (x86)\Popdock\{Gateway folder}. Once you have selected the file, click Upload and the information from within the file will be uploaded into the new gateway for use in the connection.

5. Update the connection in the IIS.

Now that the legacy settings have been uploaded into the new gateway folder, you will want to update a few settings for the gateway in IIS to complete the connection. Open IIS and navigate to the gateway application under the default website, or wherever you may have it in the IIS. Once you have located the gateway application, right-click on the app and select Advanced Settings.

In the advanced settings menu, select the path and then click the three dots at the end to change the path. You will then want to change that path to the one mentioned earlier for the new gateway folder (C:\Program Files\eOne Solutions\{Gateway folder}).

Once you have selected the new path, you will need to run an iisreset in an administrator command prompt. Once this is done, your gateway will be updated. You are now ready to use your Dynamics GP data in Popdock once more.
