You encountered the error “A get/change operation on table ‘E1_Registration’ failed accessing SQL data” when upgrading eOne ExtenderSmartList BuilderSmartView, SmartPost, and/or Flexicoder.

This error generally occurs when updating from Microsoft Dynamics GP and eOne release 2016 or 2018 to 18.2 or newer.
With the release of version 18.2, the product registration process was updated.

October 2019 Releases of Extender, SmartList Builder, SmartView, SmartPost, and Flexicoder are Available Today

Resolution

A quick resolution is to use SQL Maintenance to drop and recreate the E1_REG table, then re-register the instance using your registration key.

If you are using multiple eOne products, you only need to do this process once. However, be sure to register all of your eOne products afterward with the new registration keys.

  1. Ensure you have a complete backup of your Dynamics database.
  2. Log in as ‘sa’ or ‘DYNSA into Dynamics GP, then navigate to SQL Maintenance (Microsoft Dynamics GP → Maintenance → SQL).
  3. Choose Database as ‘DYNAMICS‘.
  4. Select ‘Extender‘ (or any of the five products, as they are the same).
  5. Locate the ‘eOne Registration Keys ‘, highlight it (be sure not to select any other tables), and check both the ‘Drop Table‘ and ‘Create Table‘ options.
  1. Click the Process button and it will process for a second as it drops and recreates the E1_REG table for you.
  2. Close Dynamics GP and log in again to ensure you do not still receive the error.
  3. Open the registration window and enter the registration key for each eOne product you’re using.
    • Extender: Go to Dynamics GP → Tools → Extender → Register Extender. Enter your registration key and click Save.
    • SmartList Builder: Go to Dynamics GP → Tools → SmartList Builder → Register SmartList Builder. Enter your registration key and click Save.
    • SmartView: Go to Dynamics GP → Tools → SmartView → Registration. Enter your registration key and click Save.
    • SmartPost: Go to Dynamics GP → Tools → SmartPost→ Registration. Enter your registration key and click Save.
    • Flexicoder: Go to Dynamics GP → Tools → Flexicoder→ Flexicoder Registration. Enter your registration key and click Save.
