If a user needs to export a list to an Excel, PDF, or text file, follow these guidelines for assigning roles:

System Roles
  • None required
Connector Roles
  • ExcelExporter
Grants the ability to export data in Excel (.xlsx) file format from a list that the user has access to.
  • PdfExporter
Grants the ability to export data in PDF (.pdf) file format from a list that the user has access to.
  • TextExporter
Grants the ability to export data in text (.txt) file format from a list that the user has access to. The list must be in the text type first, then the Export menu will export it in the text file format.
  • User
Allows viewing data from the connector. Access is limited to the companies, lists, actions, and details that you explicitly grant permissions to.

Notes on Exporting Data

When these roles are assigned to a user, it will grant the Export option for the user when logged into the web application. If you want the Export option on a Popdock widget, you will need to make sure the user has permission to the widget, and they are using their own token to access the widget.
