When running a map, receiving an error that says “Error in calculation column ‘SQLSERVER-GP’ : End of statement expected.”

SQLSERVER-GP is the name of the SQL server where your GP data is located.

This occurs if your SQL server has a dash in the name. To resolve this, do the following:

1. Launch SmartConnect.

2. Go to the “Maintenance” tab, and look in the “Generic Connector” section and click on “MSSQL Defaults.”
MSSQL Defaults

3. Make note of the default connection there and delete it.

4. Recreate it with the same information, just make sure the “Name’ field at the top of the window has no spaces or underscores in it when you recreate it. The actual SQL server can have spaces or underscores in it, it’s just the Name field that cannot have dashes in it.
