Outlines the requirements for getting Analytical Accounting maps running in SmartConnect.
Analytical Account maps can be one of the more difficult items to create using SmartConnect. The issue is not in the mapping, which is fairly simple, the issue is with generating a source file that can be used for Analytical Accounting information. As an example, lets look at a Sales Order Transaction with AA information. You have one invoice, with 3 lines items on it. You have 5 distributions that each have one dimension with two codes assigned to it. You need to have one line for each dimension and code combination. Your source file for this single invoice will need to have thirty lines in it to account for all the AA information. Here is the explanation behind the number of lines. You have two codes to assign for each dimension. (1×2=2). You have 5 distributions (2×5=10). You have three line items (10×3=30). Your header mapping needs to be grouped by document number. When you preview the header mapping, you should only see 1 document. Your line item mapping needs to be grouped by document number and item number. When you preview your line item mapping you should see only three line items. Your distribution mapping needs to be grouped by document number and account number. When you preview your distribution mapping, you should see only 5 distributions. Your analytical accounting mapping should be grouped by a field that will result in only 10 lines being displayed. (1 line for each code and dimension combination). Typically you need to add some sort of Line Sequence and AA sequence number to your source file in order to get it to group correctly. Once your can preview the map and see only the correct lines for each mapping, the map will run. The difficulty is in create a file that has the correct number of lines, and the correct number of sequences added to it in order to properly create the groupings.
