Popdock now has the ability to add file details that pull from Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, SharePoint, and FTP. This allows you to link a record in a list to a file stored in the cloud. You can then preview the file within the list or download it.
Adding a Cloud Storage Connector
Before you can add file details to a list, you will need to add a connector for the file details. Popdock has connectors for Dropbox, FTP, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and SharePoint.
1. From the main menu, select Connectors.
2. Select Add connector.
3. Select Cloud storage.
4. Select the connector for the storage system you are using.
5. Select Connect and then enter your credentials to connect to your cloud storage system.
Once the connector install has completed, you can add it as a detail to your list.
Adding File Details to a Popdock List
In this example, file details are added to the Customers list in the Sample Data connector.
1. Edit the Sample Data connector.
2. Select Lists.
3. Edit the Customers list.
4. Select Details.
5. Select Add and then select File.
6. Enter a Name for the detail.
7. From the Type dropdown, select File.
8. Select your cloud storage connector from the Connector dropdown. In this example, the Dropbox connector is being used.
9. Select the List, File field, and File name field.

10. Select the location of where you want the detail to display, from the Display method list.
11. Select Add.
12. Select Filters.
13. Select Add a filter. This will allow you to link a record in the list to a file. How you create the link will depend on how your files are named. In this example, the files in Dropbox have the customer’s name. The filter will link the file name to the Name field in the Customers list.

Now when you open the list, you can see file details. Select a record and then select the detail.

From the details, you can preview the file or download it.
