If your company uses tracking numbers for shipping, Popdock can present your tracking history as a detail on a list. In a previous article, we outlined how our Shipping Connector can be used to link to a specific field that is storing a tracking number to display shipping information in a card format within a detail (How to Setup a Shipping Carrier Connector to Show Tracking Information). Alternatively, if you prefer to view the tracking information through USPS’ interface, you can use an IFrame detail to display their user interface within Popdock.
Note: You will need a field within your list that contains tracking information as it relates to the list you want to display. In this example, I am using my Sales Transactions list from my Dynamics 365 Business Central Connector.
1. From within your connector, start by selecting the Pencil Icon (Edit) next to your list.
2. Click on Details under the left Settings menu.
3. Select + Add custom detail.
4. On the Detail settings page, use the Name field to give your detail a name. Then click Tab.
5. Some additional fields will populate. In the Type field drop down menu, select IFrame. This will adjust the settings on the page.
6. In the IFrame URL field, enter the following URL for USPS’ tracking interface: https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?tRef=fullpage&tLc=2&text28777= . You can also select how you want your detail to display using the Display method drop down menu. In this example, we will select In the sidebar.
7. With the Detail settings configured, click Parameters under the left Settings menu.
8. Select the link that says Click here to add a parameter.
9. In the Key field, type tLabels. Use the Value type drop down menu to select Field, and then the Value drop down menu to select the field that contains your tracking numbers from your list. My field is called Tracking Number. With the fields compiled, click Save.
10. This detail is now ready to use. Navigate back to the Popdock homepage and add your list as a new tab. You can then select the record from within your list that contains the tracking number and then click on the USPS Tracking detail.
11. You will now see the USPS Tracking user interface within your detail.
