In SmartConnect, you can configure email setup using the Microsoft Graph connection protocol. It is worth noting that you do not need to purchase an additional connection for Microsoft Graph email setup with SmartConnect.

We have documentation on how to set up a Microsoft Graph OData connection.

When creating the Azure App, one of the most common mistakes we observe in step 5 of the documentation is copying the correct Redirect URI based on the region.

To copy the correct redirect URL from SmartConnect 21

  • Go to Connections within SmartConnect
  • Click on Create to open the Select Connector Instance
  • Select Microsoft Graph OData from the available connection options.

  • Copy Redirect URL: Within the connection window, copy the Redirect URL displayed. This URL is essential for completing the setup process accurately.

Upon registering the app in Azure, you can continue setup in SmartConnect. Copy the following details from the Azure app:

  • Tenant Id
  • Client Id
  • Client Secret (value)

In SmartConnect 21 Go to File > Maintenance > Setup then Email Settings.

Select the Connection Protocol Graph.

Click on the Authorize Button and log in with your email and password to complete the authorization.

OAuth validation is complete, please close your browser window and press Get Access Token inside the SmartConnect client to continue.

Then, click on the Get Access Token Button.

By following these steps, you will configure your email setup using Microsoft Graph within SmartConnect. After configuration, click on the “Test Email” button for testing purposes.
