How to Navigate the SmartPost Error: Login failed for user ‘SmartPost’
Are you getting the error “Login failed for user ‘SmartPost’” after installing SmartPost in Microsoft Dynamics GP—even though the password is correct? You’re not alone. In this video, we explain why this error happens and exactly how to fix it.
The issue isn’t your password. It’s caused by creating SmartPost as a GP user, which it should never be. SmartPost uses an internal SQL login, and when it’s also created in GP, the encrypted GP password no longer matches the plain-text SQL password—causing the login failure.
