Connection could not be validated when using Excel data source

Using an Excel data source, and receiving an error that says “Connection could not be validated”.  When clicking on Details, the message says “ERROR [IM002][Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified”

This is caused by not having 32 Bit Excel/Office ODBC Drivers installed on this machine.

The resolution is to install the 32 bit Office 2007 drivers you can download from Microsoft Excel 2007 Drivers

Then when you setup your data source, Pick Excel 2007  as the data type.
