Add-In Initialization Error on SmartConnect 2010

When launching Great Plains Dynamics, receiving an error that says “eOne.SmartConnect.GpAddIn.dll: The type initializer for ‘Microsoft.Dexterity.Applications.root’ threw an exception. InnerException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: productId”

This occurs when the “Menus for Visual Studio Tools” has been removed from the Dynamics.set file. SmartConnect automatically installs this product in order to generate menus inside of Great Plains. The easiest way to resolve this is to uninstall SmartConnect on the machine, and perform a reinstall. You will not lose any maps, the uninstall only removes the client portion of the application.
