When launching Great Plains, receiving an error message that says “SmartConnect could not be loaded”
This can be caused by several different issues. Open the Windows Event Viewer and look at the SmartConnect Event Log. If the error message says “Login failed for user ‘SmartConnect'” it means that the SQL SmartConnect password has been changed. The password should be “SmartConnect”. This is a user that is used internally by SmartConnect and should not be changed. The SmartConnect user should be assigned the public and sysadmin roles in SQL.
