Server Error in ‘/SmartConnect’ Application

When browsing to the SmartConnect Website, you receive the following error, “Server Error in ‘/SmartConnect’ Application”. This is followed by: Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately. Parser Error Message: Sections must only appear once per config file. See the help topic for exceptions.

This can occur if you install the SmartConnect webservice 2 times without uninstalling it between installs. The second install appends the config file instead of overwriting it, causing duplicate lines to appear in the web config file.
Here are the steps to resolve it.
1. Uninstall SmartConnect using the standard Add/Remove Programs feature in the Windows Control Panel.
2. Launch IIS (Internet Information Services Manager, and right click on the SmartConnect website and select delete.
3. Browse the local c: drive and go to the c:Program FilesOne Integrated Business Solutions folder.
4. Delete the www folder that appears in that directory.
5. Reinstall SmartConnect and reconfigure the webservices.
