Add-In Initialization Error when launching Microsoft Dynamics GP

When launching Microsoft Dynamics GP after installing SmartConnect, receiving an error that says: eOne.SmartConnect.UI.dll: Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.

NOTE: This article only applies to SmartConnect 9 or SmartConnect 10

This is typically caused by installing an incorrect version of SmartConnect. If you are on Great Plains 9.0 you need to install SmartConnect 9.0 If you are on Great Plains 10.0 you need to install SmartConnect 10.0 In order to recover from this issue you need to perform the following steps:

1. Perform the Windows uninstall of SmartConnect

2. Browse into the Great Plains directory and delete the SMRTCONN.DIC (if you are on 9.0, it will be called SMRTCONN9.DIC)

3. Reinstall the correct version of SmartConnect.
