A map runs correctly when run in the SmartConnect Map Setup screen, but will not run when scheduled.
Here are typical things that cause it not to run.
1. The user assigned to run the scheduled task needs to be an administrator on the local machine.
2. The user assigned to run the scheduled task needs to be the same user as the eConnect COM+ user. To check this do the following:
a. Go to Control Panel – Administrative Tools – Component Services.
b. Expand Component Services
c. Expand Computers
d. Expand My Computer
e. Expand COM+ Applications
f. Right click on the eConnect 10 or eConnect 9 objects and select Properties
g. Go to the Identity Tab, check the username and password there
3. The user running the scheduled task is not associated with the sa user in SmartConnect setup. To resolve this error, the user associated with the SmartConnect Web service needs to be linked to the Great Plains sa user. To do this, perform the following.
a. Open the SmartConnect Security Window (Tools – SmartConnect – Security).
b. Highlight the sa user.
c. Click on the Active Directory button and select “Link to AD account”
d. Use the magnifying glass to select the active directory user. You need to select the same user that is running the scheduled task, and the same user that is running the COM+ object.
4. The SmartConnect setup window connection string is pointed at an incorrect server. To resolve this do the following:
a. Go to Tools – SmartConnect – Setup
b. Find the Scheduler Settings
c. In the Connection String, you must manually edit it to the data source name to point at your SQL server. Note that this is the server name, and not a DSN. So if your SQL server name was GP10, then your connection string will look like this: data source=GP10;initial catalog=DYNAMICS;Integrated Security=SSPI;packet size=4096
