When trying to access a saved SmartView Favorite, you receive the error message: “Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index”

If the list this Favorite is on was built in SmartList Builder, the error can indicate that the SmartView Favorite contains a column that is no longer in the SmartList Builder setup.

If you know the column that may have been removed, you can add it back to the list in SmartList Builder so that the Favorite works again.

The other option would be to remove the Favorite and set up a new one. You can try to remove the Favorite in SmartView using the Remove button in the Favorites section of the Navigation bar. Sometimes that option isn’t available after you receive this error. In that case, you can remove it by going to Microsoft Dynamics GP – Tools – SmartView – Favorites Maintenance. There, you can find the favorite to be removed, select it, and click the delete button. Once it is removed, you can create a new Favorite with the current columns available in the list.
