How to revalidate Business Central connector

There are multiple reasons to revalidate the Business Central connection including:

  • OAuth User is removed or left the Business Central Company
  • The Azure app secret expired
  • Manually refresh Business Central metadata

Revalidating Connector

  1. Log into SmartConnect.com as an administrator
  2. Select Connections from the menu
  3. Edit the Business Central connection needs to be invalidated

03. To enable the Validate button CUT (Ctrl+X) Tenant ID and PASTE (Ctrl+V)

04. Click on the Validate Button

05. Enter an active Business Central SUPER user in the Microsoft sign-in screen

If you will see the error “Failed to retrieve access token“. Generate a new secret as shown in steps 8-10 in this article: setting up Azure application.

06. Select the Default Company

07. Click on Save to complete the Business Central connection revalidation.

  1. Log into SmartConnect as an administrator
  2. Select Connections from the menu
  3. Edit the Business Central connection needs to be validated
  4. Click Authorize
  5. Enter an active Business Central SUPER user in the Microsoft sign-in screen

  1. Click Get Access Token

If you will see the error “Failed to retrieve access token“. Generate a new secret as shown in steps 8-10 in this article: setting up Azure application.

  1. Click on the OK button if you see Successfully retrieved the access token.
  2. Select the Default Company
  3. Click on the Refresh Metadata button
  4. Click on Save to complete the Business Central connection revalidation.
