On November 9th, 2024, Popdock released a major update that changed how some of the security is handled in the application, along with a number of new features and bug fixes. You can find more information about this release here.
The following steps are how you would add the ApiQueryData role to a user or team if you plan to assign them a token to specifically use to query API Endpoints.
1. From the Popdock main menu, select Security.
2. From the left navigation menu, click Users, External users, or Teams depending on which option you want to assign permissions to query API Endpoints.
3. Once you have made your selection from the left navigation menu, find the user or team and then click Edit.
4. Here you will need to know where the API Endpoint is querying the data from so that you can accurately set the role on the correct connector. Find the connector from the left navigation and then click on it.
5. By default, you will be on the Roles tab. This is where to configure what roles you want the user or team to have for the specific connector. Click Add a role.
6. Under the API section in the Add role window, select the ApiQueryData role. Then click Add. This gives the user permission to query data for the connection via the Popdock API.
7. Select Companies and give the user permission to the company, if one is needed. Select List and give the user permission to the list that API endpoint is querying.
With the ApiQueryData role and permissions to the company and list on the connector, the user or team will be able to query the API Endpoint using their assigned token to retrieve data.
