Enabling web services in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials

When you integrate with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials using SmartConnect, you are able to integrate with all the data in your instance that is published to web services. In Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials, only some of the objects are published to web services by default.  However, it is pretty easy to check which objects are currently published to web services and to publish additional objects too.  In Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials, here are the steps to access and enable new objects to be published to web services, so you can integrate with them:

In Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials,

  • Click on the “Light-bulb/paper” icon to search Dynamics 365, which will open the search:

dyn365-3
  • In the Search for Page or Report window, enter “web services”.
  • You should see this. Click on “Web Services”. dyn365-4
  • In the View – Web Services, click “+ new”.

At this point, the web services should be enabled for your new object in Dynamics 365 for Financials.

As a next step, in SmartConnect, you will be required to enter the Web Service URL into the connector setup window.
