when to know you need a second map

Hello:
The technology involved in running more than one SmartConnect map is very nice! And, I know that this is a broad question.
But, how do you know when you need to run a second map? More specifically, what would be a good example of running one map after another?

Hi John,
An example of a situation when you may need a second map is when you have large GL transactions and it will end up timing out for just the one map, so use a second map to spread the work.
