web service and calculated fields

An error is being received when a map is called through web services that calculated fields are not declared, and that
"It may be inaccessible due to its protection level". The map with the existing file works successfully when run through smartconnect. Other maps work successfully through web services. This map has run successfully in the past via web services.
Did anyone ever resolve this error???
