Using Variables in failure email

Sherry asked 5 years ago
I set up two global variables – GBL_ADDRESSTO and GBL_ADDRESSFROM.  I entered valid email addresses as the default values.  I am now using them in an Email Task.  If I Test the email task, it says “The specified string is not in the form required for an email address.”
If I enter the actual email addresses in place of the variables, it Tests just fine, but that defeats the purpose of having the variables.  What am I missing?

Same issue on version 20.18.1.14

This is happening because the the Test button on the task is not getting the value of your global variables until the map is saved.  However, when the map is ran your variable value will be used.  I will enter a problem report so this will be resolved in a future release.
