Upgrading SmartConnect

I am planning to upgrade from to The upgrade says to uninstall and then run install as per a new installation. It is NOT clear if the checkbox for “SmartConnect Database” should be checked in the “Select which components of SmartConnect will be installed” dialog for an Upgrade or if that is only on a new installation. Actually that selection does not appear to be documented at all.
