The remote server returned an error

John asked 8 years ago
Hello:
In a SmartConnect “push” integration in an Excel spreadsheet, the end user gets the following error:  “The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.”
The map itself works in SmartConnect and so do all of the other SmartConnect maps.  The user has validated the service settings and configuration within Excel and they both came back as successful.
What could be causing this error, and what is the fix?
Thanks!
John

John,
It sounds like you are using the Excel 2013 Add-In and the WCF service. Make sure the WCF service is working as expected by following these setup instructions. http://www.eonesolutions.com/Manuals/SmartConnect/SmartConnect%202014/?page=smartconnect_wcf_rest_service_install

If that is setup correctly, on the machine where the web service is located, we would need to see what errors are appearing in the Event Log.
