System Maintenance – GP – Stored Procedure cannot be created
After upgrading from SmartConnect 2015 to 2016 (for GP 2016R2) I try to run System Maintenance, but it cannot complete because numerous stored procedures cannot be created:
Stored Procedure: taExtenderWindowDeleteLine could not be created.A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 – Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
I have verified that:

I have verified that:
- Named pipes are enabled
- SQL allows remote connections
- Tried both the instance name and the IP address of the server
- The current user is sysadmin

The issue is due to the SQL Server Name/Instance containing the name of the Dynamics GP System Database name. A fix is being worked on in development for a future release.
The workaround is to copy the DYNAMICS database to another database and use that other database as the System DB Name in the SmartConnect Dynamics GP Connector.

Hi eOne – has this been fixed? I have the same issue. Is there a table i can update in SC with the new SQL server? I don’t have the other DYNAMICS DB
