Smartconnect WS Installation

Donald asked 7 years ago
We are planning to install SmartConnect 2014 for use with our GP2013r2 installation. We are already using Dynamics GP Web Service to load data from an external application. Do we still need to install Web Services for SmartConnect or will it use the exiting Web Service installation?

Great, Thanks

SmartConnect does not use the Microsoft Web Services for integration purposes, it uses eConnect for sending data to Dynamics GP. The SmartConnect Web Services are used to automate SmartConnect itself. You can use the SmartConnect Web Services to execute integrations or send data to the map.
You can use the Web Service Data Source and Web Service Destination as part of your mapping process and those could be used to call Dynamics GP Web Services.
