SmartConnect RunMapConsole: Could not run map XXX Begin failed with SQL exception

Sherry Whitten asked 2 years ago
This map has been running flawlessly for weeks, but early this morning it failed with the above error.  I see that in the Event Viewer where the map runs.  I don’t see any errors that mean anything to me in the SQL Server event viewer or SQL log.  Any ideas what that error means?  Thanks.

Sherry,
The message “Begin failed with SQL exception” is a standard SQL error that does not provide much detail about what failed. The best place to start is find when and where the error occurred. I’d start by answering the following questions.

  1. Was the map run manually, scheduled, or executed by a script?

  2. If the map was not run manually, try running it manually on the same machine it was being remotely executed from.

  3. Have there been any SQL security changes recently?

  4. Do other integrations still work correctly?

The map is run scheduled, and it has run flawless before and after this failure. It runs manually. No SQL security changes. Other integrations are still working except for sporadic failures – different error that I’m working on.
