Smart Connect to XML File fails

I am trying to produce an XML file from smartconnect. I have a copy of XML file so I was able to ‘EDIT’ the XML file format I mapped the fields from my SQL table and I am able to preview, but when i run i get error:
“Could not write to export file : Error there is no root element for this document”. Any ideas how to get around this error?

Brad,
Can’t say that I’ve seen this error before to offer a suggestion.. We’d have to have you open a case with support and we can get your table & data, map, and the xml that you started with and we can take a look.
