REST method return field with spaces.

I’m having trouble setting my REST return types.
Basically, the API I’m using has a field called “Unit Rate” and i’m trying to get the values of this field, however it seems smartconnect doesn’t like it when there are any fields with spaces in them, and no data is returned. I know this is causing the problem because if I remove the field, data returns with no problems.
Is there some delimiter I’m supposed to use or am I going in a completely wrong direction?
