PO updates changing the item number

I have an insert/update map for purchase orders. It works for changing many different fields except for changing the item number. It returns error 9179 spewing off lots of SOP things and saying the LNITMSEQ is already used for an item. I can change the item number manually from within the PO so I am not sure what the issue is doing so with econnect.

Michelle,

That error means eConnect does not allow for changing the item number. You would have to send a suggestion to Microsoft to have them change the eConnect logic.
