Migrating GP extender to Extender Enterprise

rtaljaard asked 10 years ago
Hi                                                                                                                                   Please could you check what we did below and let us know if we missed anything?

This is the process we followed so far

1.We uninstalled GP Extender from GP.
2.We installed the Extender Enterprise.
3.We logged in as sa and let it create the new tables in each DB.
4.We ran the script (convert Microsoft eXtender tables back to eOne.sql) to drop and recreate sql objects.

When we log into GP we get no errors everything seems fine. When we try access existing forms and save or delete data, we get these messages…

1.Error 1: I can create a record using a detail form but when I delete it I get this error (Note the record does get deleted)

A get/change operation on table 'PT_MC_Exchange_Rates' failed accessing SQL data.

Number of results columns doesnt match table definition.

Number of results columns doesnt match table definition.

Number of results columns doesnt match table definition.

2.Error 2: I cant create or delete records when using a normal form.

A remove range  operation on table 'PT_Extender_Form_Field_Strings' failed accessing SQL data.

Number of results columns doesnt match table definition.

Try the steps in the following KB article. http://eonesolutions.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/Knowledge-Base-Article.aspx?articleid=198.   Be sure you have a backup before doing so.   Lorren

Working on an upgrade for a customer currently on GP 2010 SP1.  Looking for help with the upgrade process, but the link in this thread is broken.  I'm trying to find the SQL Script: (convert Microsoft eXtender tables back to eOne.sql) with no luck so far.

Sorry about the link. We have fixed the Knowledge Base (KBA-01179-T9X9S9) to have the correct link for the sql file.

On a side note, are you switching from Extender Standard to Extender Enterprise just for the update? The update will update Extender Standard to 2013, so you wouldn’t want to switch if you are truly using Standard and not registered for Enterprise.
