Mapping to CRM lookup fields that are optional

The CRM Account entity out of the box has an optional field for “Parent Account” that is a lookup on the Account entity. I am importing Accounts. Most do not have a Parent Account. Some do. If I may my Parent Account field to be a lookup, I get an error that the Entity Lookup could not be performed (because it is looking up blank “”).
What is the eOne workaround for this common issue?

Make sure you are not grouping on the Entity Lookup that is doing the account lookup to the parent Account.
