Login Failed
Hi:
Although I’m logged in as a SmartConnect administrator, I cannot run any maps due to the error “Login failed”.
I have given my login in SQL access to the required roles in the databases.
The weird thing is that the login failure message is not ever referencing my A/D login. Rather, it mentions the name of the server that I’m trying to run these maps on.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
John

John,
There are a few different locations that the SQL login could be referenced that is not using a valid login.

- If your destination is GP, then you can check the SmartConnect > Setup > Setup > Dynamics GP Connector.
- Check that the account assigned to the eConnect windows service on the current machine is a member of DYNGRP in SQL.
- Make sure it is set to use a dedicated SQL login and not inherit the current AD user.
- If you are using an ODBC data source check if that is defined in the map to use a SQL login.
- It may be using an ODBC default, which can be modified here: SmartConnect > Maintenance > Generic Connector > ODBC Data Source
- If your map has any tasks or additional columns using an MSSQL connection you will want to check that these are also using a defined SQL login.
- These may be using an MSSQL default, which can be modified here: SmartConnect > Maintenance > Generic Connector > MSSQL Defaults
