Index was out of range error on a favorite.

We are seeing an error in Smart View when we try to run selected Favorites:

Index was out of range.  Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.

Parameter name: index

This started less than a week ago and is not limited so a single or small number of users.  Any suggestions of how to troubleshoot or any fixpacks or hotfixes for this would be appreciated.

This is almost always caused by a change in the smartlist definition (so it is a SLB smartlist vs a built-in smartlist) and that a field in the Favorite is no longer existing. Something in SV isn’t handling that well when parsing the data and fails causing this error.

There probably isn’t a good way to debug this on the user side and the easiest/best workaround is to just go to
Tools | SmartView | Favorite Mainenance

and find the favorite that isn’t working and delete it.
Then just recreate it again.
