How do Lookup Restriction Values work

Where is the documentation for what the Lookup Restriction Values are and what they do in Forms? There is nothing in the user guide that describes these. I select “Current Date Plus Months” what does that do – how many months is it adding? Where are these documented?

There really isn't any documentation around the restrictions other than that they exist.
There is actually a bug on this window. When you select the date fields and get the date restrictions, you should be getting another field to enter in the number of Months, days, etc once you select that type of restriction. Currently for any of the options where you select an option and then you would expect to enter in a value, there isn't a field to enter in the value for it.
We are working to get this resolved in Extender 2013.

Thanks Nicole. Will Extender 2013 only work with GP 2013? We haven't gone live on GP 2010 yet, and it will be 1-1/2 to 2 years before we upgrade to GP 2013. Will this be fixed for GP 2010?

You are correct, Extender 2013 is only for GP 2013. I will see what I can do on the 2010 side, but make no guarantees. If we do get it fixed in 2010 as well, it will be in the next release we do for 2010 which currently does not have a release time frame at all.

This is kind of a big deal. We need to restrict some of our Lookups based on dates and date ranges. Is there a workaround for this? An even better feature, from my perspective, is to allow a Lookup to be based on a query which would give the most flexibility. Could you put that in 2010 instead? 🙂
Not sure that we can get the lookup based on a query into the product for you, but will certainly work on seeing if we can get the restrictions fixed.
