Go To needed to open the Company Internet Information form

Mike asked 5 years ago
Hello.I have created a SmartList that is pulling data from RM Customer MSTR (RM00101), Customer Master Address File(RM00102), and Internet Information(SY0100). This SmartList allows us to see which customers have email addresses set. I would like to create a default Go To that would open the Internet Information form. This would allow us to enter or update that information. So far, I am able to open the Internet Information form and have the Customer Number set. But I am unable to get the Master Type and Address Code to work. I have tried a number of different ways to set the Master Type and Address Code fields with no success. Thanks,

You should be able to do this – I would suspect the issue is your “Master Type” field.  That field is GP is a drop list – meaning that you set it to the integer value (counting down in the list).  So you should set it to 2.  You’ll probably need to make a calculation and hard code the value in it to 2.
And then fill in the customer and address code.  That should work then.
Otherwise a better solution it to use the Build-in Goto.
SLB has (or should have) all the goto’s that all the GP smartlists can do.  so if we look at the Customer Address smartlist we see there is a goto for “Internet information”
so in SLB add the Built-in Goto and then choose the customer addresses smartlist and the internet information goto and that should work.

I like the idea of using the Build-in Goto… I do see that the standard Customer Address smartlist does in fact have a Internet address Go To. And it does work.
But on our install of GP, I only see four advanced go to’s. So I downloaded the Customer Address smartlist and imported it. After importing this smartlist, I still do not see anymore Advance Go To’s, nor do any of the Go To work on the imported Customer Address smartlist.

Thanks.

It isn’t an Advanced Goto, it is a Built-in Goto available on GP 2013.
That you tell me that you see “4 advanced gotos” tells me you are likely on GP 2010 and so you don’t have the built-in one. So that plan looks out unless you update GP.

So then Plan B is my original proposal, make sure to set the drop list correctly and I don’t see why the manual goto that you build wouldn’t work.

We are using GP 2013. I just checked and we are on version 12.00.1528 (SP2), Smartlist 12.00.1485.
I have done some searching on the Built-In Goto, and can see where I could this functionality on some other projects I am working on. So my question is now, why don’t I see the new Built-In Goto’s since we are on GP 2013?

You are maybe using the Microsoft version of SLB – not sure if that was a feature on that version – probably not.
install the latest version of SLB for your version of GP from the eOne SLB downloads page.

Or else you aren’t looking in the right spot.

I was able to download and install the latest version of SLB on a test system. I now see the Built-In Goto options.
I’m guessing our VAR did not bother to install the version from your website.
Thanks for all your help.
