Excel Data Source Not working 2016

We have been saving Excel sheets to CSV’s ad using the Text data source successfully for quite some time. Recently I tried to just connect to an xls file, and even though it’s closed, it will not connect to reveal the sheet.
Any ideas appreciated

Bill,

When connecting to Excel you need the correct Excel driver installed. The one that works the best for me is this one.
Make sure you install the 32-bit version of the driver, because SmartConnect is a 32-bit application.
