Error refreshing SmartConnect session factory : could not execute query

Our SmartConnect jobs failed to run this morning, and I am trying to identify the cause.
Looking at the event log, I see two error messages,
1. “Error refreshing SmartConnect session factory : could not execute query”
2.”could not execute query”
Both of these failures occurred at the same event date-time (when our job is supposed to run)
This job runs at 6AM, and we have another job that ran successfully at 5:30AM, I have no reason to believe the job at 5:30 would have still been running at 6AM.
Does anyone know what could potentially cause this error?
