Could Not Save Record
Unfortunately when a map is in this state there isn't much that can be done other than recreating the map.
We are unsure of the steps that cause a map to get into this state. The only time i've been able to recreate it is if I delete a node mapping and make additional changes or have made changes to a map and then delete one of the nodes. If I save it at this point it will give me this error.

I had this very same issue, exactly as Lorren said the issue was caused from deleting a node and making changes. So what I did was 1. Accepted I could not save it and reopened the Map. 2 – Deleted the node then saved 3 – continues making additional changes and saving often. I was able to avoid this tedious loop.
I had the same thing happen when I changed the source view to exclude some fields that were not pertinent to the import. Once I reincluded the fields in the view, the map opened, ran, and saved sucessfully again.
Exactly the same problem here. It seems if you delete a node within the map and try to recreate it, you will not be able to save the entire map. This is way too frustrating and should be something you guys fix ASAP.
If you guys run into it on the new version let us know since we definitely want to get rid of this issue since its frustrating to lose any work just by modifying some parts of your map.

I upgrade from Smartconnect 2013 to 2015. It went through system maintenance fine. I add GP add on too and when I go to run any map it says “cannot save record”. HELP!!!!
Hi Don, did you ever get this resolved? I went from SC 2014 to 2015 and am experiencing the same issue.
Same here, had to revert back to SC2014
I am having the same issue after upgrading from 2014 to 2015.
I’m having the same issue! We are on SmartConnect 2018….
5 years later, same issue. SmartConnect has so much potential but it is the touchiest piece of software I’ve ever had the un-pleasure of using. Re-name it BreakConnect!
