Command line integration

Tom asked 2 years ago
I have a vbsScript that
– reads a source file
– loads the data into staging (adding an invoice number!)
– runs a SC map using eOne.SmartConnect.RunMapConsole.exe
– outputs the error log to a text file.

Today, when I run the map (which has run correctly in the past) I get this error message:
The source was not found, but some or all event logs could not be searched.  To create the source, you need permission to read all event logs to make sure that the new source name is unique.  Inaccessible logs: Security, State

Which usually indicates the SmartConnect isn’t able to create event log entries on the workstation.

How can I correct this so that I can at least see what my errors are?

Technically the error happens because the .NET method that looks to verify that the Event Source can’t find it but just wants to let you know that it can’t read the Security series (unless you run elevated).
The 100% solution to resolve this is to use the following blog article to create all the event log sources that the system should be looking for.
