Changing from Client to Server

johnellis asked 8 years ago
Hello: For a customer of ours using Terminal Server, I installed the Server version of SmartConnect. Later, the customer got another Terminal Server. So, I put the Client version on it. All of the SmartConnect users access the app and GP 2013 from this box. This customer is planning on decommissioning the first Terminal Server that I mentioned. How do I “change” the Client installation on the new Terminal Server box to be a “Server” version instead of a “Client” version? Thanks! John

John,

There really isn't anything different for the client version of Smart Connect.  If you want it to truly be a "server" then you would probably install the Windows Service so that machine acts as the Schedule Server.  The other option is installing the Web Service if that machine has IIS but really any machine with IIS could have the Web Service installed.
